Abu Simbel
One of the most famous and sought after monuments after the Pyramids of Giza, built 3000 years ago by Ramses the II, to honour him and his wife Nefertari. Four 69 feet Colossi adorn the entrance, the largest surviving sculptures in Egypt. Transported from its original mountain site on the Westbank of the Nile due the construction of the Aswan High Dam, the move took four years by a team of UNESCO engineers. To visit is a 30 minute flight from Aswan, or join a Lake Nasser cruise.
Lake Nasser Cruise
