Begin your adventure in Nairobi, traveling through breathtaking landscapes to the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, and onward to the Shaba Game Reserve.

Go on a safari in Lake Nakuru, a sanctuary for black and white rhinos that roam freely along the water’s edge, along with vast flocks of pink flamingos.
Three safari game drives across the iconic Masai Mara. Explore the savannahs renowned for offering some of the best sightings of lions, cheetahs, & leopards + opportunity to meet the Masai people.
Other experiences included: a breakfast by the shores of the Ewaso Nyiro River, an outdoor 'bush' lunch in Lake Nakuru, and a boma dinner at your Masai Mara lodge.

Itinerary

Board your International flight to Nairobi; we offer departures from most major cities in Canada or the USA. Required valid Canadian or American passport with empty pages; valid for six to eight months past your return date.

Upon arrival at Nairobi Airport proceed to clear Customs and Immigration. Canadian and American Passport holders need to present a Tourist Visa, which you obtain online before to departure: www.etakenya.go.ke.

Other passport holders please consult your local Consulate.

After you will be meet by our Representative, who will transfer you to your Hotel.

Overnight in Nairobi.

The Sarova Stanley Hotel

No meals

Depart after breakfast, you pass near Thika and continue north through some breathtaking scenery dotted with rushing mountain streams and fields of tea and coffee.

After Nanyuki town, continue north, eventually reaching a dusty outpost known as Isiolo, the last major stop on the journey into the remote northern frontier district.

From here, it's a relatively short hop to Shaba, arrival at the lodge in time for lunch, and then depart for an afternoon safari game drive returning to the lodge by sunset.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Early morning game drive followed by breakfast.
Weather and time permitting, enjoy breakfast by the shores of the Ewaso Nyro river.

Then for the remainder of the morning, one can relax by the pool or terrace, overlooking the river. After lunch, there will be another safari game drive returning to the lodge by sunset.

Sarova Shaba Game Reserve

Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Leaving Shaba behind, travel south through Isiolo, crossing the northernmost foothills of Mount Kenya, until you get to the town of Nanyuki. Head north-west towards Nyahururu before turning in a southerly direction to your next destination, the spectacular Lake Nakuru.

Once in the park, view the game en route to the lodge.
After lunch, there will be a safari game drive returning to the lodge by sunset.

The national park, known for its flamingoes. It is also home to Black and White rhinos as well as the endangered Rothschild Giraffe.

Note: weather and time permitting lunch will be an outdoor 'bush' lunch, alfresco style, as you take in the panoramic views of the lake and the picturesque Lake Nakuru National Park.

Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge

Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Following an early morning breakfast, leave Lake Nakuru behind and head for Njoro town. You begin your ascent up over the top of the Mau Escarpment; then, heading due south, travel towards Narok, the gateway to the Maasai Mara and district headquarters of this part of Massailand. Arrive at Masai Mara in time for lunch. Following lunch and a siesta, enjoy an afternoon safari game drive returning to the lodge by sunset.

Overnight at Sarova Mara Game Camp on a full board basis.
Time and weather permitting, enjoy a unique dinner barbecue experience under the majesty of a star-studded African sky.

In the lodge there is also a swimming pool surrounded by sun lounges for those who want an alternate activity.

Depart the Masai Mara to Nairobi. Pass by the Rift Valley while keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle. Take your flight back home.

Our safari trip was outstanding!!!! Everything was well planned out and executed. The resorts were beautiful and the food was amazing. The only complaint that I can comment on was the amount of time driving and the conditions of the roads. The roads were unbelievably rough and bumpy!!! And you do spend quite a bit of time on the road. But that had nothing to do with platinum holidays. Brian was awesome in communicating with us throughout the process (and we did have airline issues) and made sure that everything was in order. The accommodations/food was great, our private tour guides were awesome and so knowledgeable, and the safaris were a once in a lifetime experiences. The additional add-on of the elephant orphanage was so worth the money. In addition, I will forever be grateful to Junior for turning a potential trip-ruining mistake into a non-issue. After we arrived at the airport (on a Sunday) there was a problem with our Kenyan entry forms that was going to keep us from going on our trip, Junior stayed on the phone with me for 3hrs and was able to fix the problem ensuring we didn't lose out on our trip. I will be forever grateful to him and the other employees at Travel Discounters.
